Monument Avenue Plein Air

This fall morning I pack up my paints and walked down to the Robert E. Lee Monument. I must have walked around that monument 3 times trying to decide on a spot and which direction would be the easiest to draw. I knew there was no such thing, but I like to think of it as my process.;) Drawing has never been my strength, but after much use of my eraser I got the general drawn. 3 hours later he was finished and I felt very proud of stepping out of my painting comfort zone.
