The Stables at The Homestead Plein Air

We returned to the Homestead Resort for a quick weekend trip celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday. It was a beautiful morning in Hot Springs, but chilly! While my family went for a guided hike I took a little hike myself. (which is tricky with all my supplies!) I took a walk to the stables and decided to set up in front of this horse pasture.

I worked and reworked on this painting but could not make it work without a proper focal point. Even adding the horses in I left feeling like it is still missing something. I love the subject and experience so it will definitely get some studio attention.
